I've known Cindy since grade school, and I still remember all the fun and happy times we had together. We remained friends as we got older and continued to keep in touch even when she moved to Elmira. I so loved when she would call and say she was heading this way and let's go to the club. We laughed and laughed and before she left, she would say until next time.
When she first told me she was sick, I was so saddened and she said that's alright, I'm going for treatments. Everything seemed to be going so well for her. The 2nd time she told me it came back, I could have cried on the phone talking to her and again she said, that's alright. She had such a positive attitude more than anyone I know who was going through such an ordeal. I didn't however know how bad it was getting and she called a few months before in which I missed the call. I planned to call her back and life got hectic, I will forever be saddened that I didn't get that chance to call and talk to her. She was such an amazing woman, funny but yet so strong. She was also close with my daughter who also enjoyed seeing her when she was here and always asked about her when we talked. We are both so heartbroken and sad and we will miss her forever. To the family, we send our love, prayers and thoughts she always talked about each and every one of you with love.

The first spring that Cindy and I were at Hickory Grove we met because my dog Brooklyn ran out the door and headed over toward Cindy‘s area. I of course was chasing after her and yelled “catch her ,catch her” which Cindy did. I think it was at that time that Brooklyn began loving Cindy and vice versa. They had bonded.
As for us, we became fast friends. We just sensed something special between us from that day on. We enjoyed many, many hours of sitting on my patio with first Eddie and Brooklyn and then Rocco and Brooklyn.
Our group of two quickly became a group of 6, and we enjoyed celebrating our birthdays together plus enjoying summer picnics at Ruth’s. When Covid hit Cindy and I had dinner together every Friday night by sitting at a long table of mine out in the grass at opposite ends. I would go and pick up fish dinners for us mostly from Taninos. For my birthday in the Covid year, she was in charge of getting me to the right places for a drive-by around our complex. The picture of us in our masks shows that day.
Cindy‘s diagnosis of cancer in 2020 was devastating to her but to me as well. She had become my bestie and our lives as we knew them changed. The next year however we were able to resume some of our activities. Cindy had so much energy and looked so good as she sported adorable outfits with shoes and glasses to match. She walked Rocco at least twice a day at rocket speed. Everyone was elated. Cindy’s treatments were going so well. Her amazing attitude, her vibrant spirit and her faith led her way. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
The last time we were together she made a toast to me. She said “Jack, this is for you, my bestie”, and she held up her glass. You can imagine how I felt. When I left we hugged each other, and she said “I love you”, and I said “ I love you too”.
I miss her so much. She will always be in my heart and my soul…a part of me. I’m blessed to have had her as my friend!❤️❤️

I had the opportunity to work with Cindy two different times. The first was as a direct care worker at Human Service Providers the second as a Special Education Teacher at the Athens Area School District. She was a great person and understanding human being.
Peace and understanding to all her children and grandchildren.

My dear sweet friend…I watched you grow up with your brothers. Your Mom & Dad were dear friends too. Years passed when you and your beloved Danny became doting parents also. Then you became so involved in your education life, that we lost touch. But we came together again on FB. I met your family and watched with awe at Marley’s classroom presentations! She learned well from Gramma. And Cindy’s influence will be with all of you for your lifetimes! My deepest and heartfelt condolences to her adoring family…your Gram was a very special lady who is deeply loved and will be so missed! Soar with Angels my friend…you have seen the face of your Saviour and are HOME at last!

No words can explain how I feel. I am grateful that I was blessed to be a part of the Davis family. Cindy, Dan, Kris, and Tim showed me what true unconditional love is and I will love them and all of the family forever. Love Ronald Harry.

Cyn was my best friend in high school. Although we lost touch after our marriages, we managed to get together a few times over the years. She never changed! Always smiling, fun and caring. Your family has lost a loving treasure. God bless you all, and know that even in losing her physical presence, your memories and beliefs she instilled in you all are her legacy.
