"Jackie"
Elmira: Age 74, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at her home. Jackie was born January 22, 1938 in Elmira, the daughter of Pasquale "Bosco" and Anna (Fierro) Clate. She is predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Anthony Clate, sister-in-law Marie Motter Clate, nephew James Joseph Clate and niece Jeannine Clate. Jackie is survived by nieces and nephews, Michele Clate, Annamarie Clate, Josette Yakobitis, Anthony Clate, Tonia Bilbee, Marco Jo Clate, Joseph Clate; sister-in-law Andra Russell; along with many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Jackie was a nurse working at Binghamton State Hospital and Johns Hopkins in Baltimore before accepting a position with the Panama Canal Co. in 1966. While in the Panama Canal Zone Jackie was very involved with the community, giving her time with the Girl Scouts and traveling with medical teams to remote villages. She loved her time spent there traveling extensively to Central and South America. Wanting to be closer to her family Jackie moved back to Elmira and accepted a position as Director of Staff Development at Chemung County Nursing Facility, retiring in 1997. Dare to Dream!
In following Jackie's wishes private services will be held.
