Harry A. McCarty
Horseheads: Age 83, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Elcor Health Services. Harry was born January 26, 1929, in Elmira, the son of William T. and Treva (Sliter) McCarty. He is predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Catherine Dunlavey McCarty, and daughters, Mary Jo Brinthaupt and Michele McCarty. Harry is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, LuAnn McCarty, Horseheads; Sharon J. and Thomas Fitzsimmons, Rochester NY; Patricia L. and Greg Lawrence, Orefield PA; grandchildren, Brian Brinthaupt, Orefield, Amy (Richard) Adams, Rochester, Lisa Fitzsimmons, Rochester and Colleen Fitzsimmons, Philadelphia PA; great granddaughter Chloe Adams; along with several nieces and nephews. Harry was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a State Corrections officer at the Elmira Correctional Facility, retiring after 30 years of service. Private services will be held.
