Obituary of Irene J. Chimileski

Irene J. Chimileski Elmira: Age 97, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Irene was born November 29, 1915 in Elmira Heights, the daughter of Andrew and Mary Kir Kowilich. She is predeceased by her husband Clement Chimileski, son William Chimileski, 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Irene is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James and Delcine Chimileski, Elmira, Donald and Patricia Chimileski, Thomas and Margo Chimileski, John and Kim Chimileski, all of Horseheads; grandchildren, James, Jeffrey (Traci), Joel and Katie (A.J. Humpfrey) Chimileski, Laura Chimileski, James Negri, Thomas (Rossana) Chimileski, Andrew, Ryan, Scott and Stephen Chimileski; great grandchildren, Rachel and Abby Chimileski, Zachary and Nicholas Chimileski, Nesta Humpfrey; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Helen and Thomas McCarthy, Horseheads; special niece Bonnie Dibble, Horseheads; along with several other nieces and nephews. Irene was very devoted to her sons and their families. She loved her time spent with the grandchildren and for over 30 years enjoyed doing crafts with members of her family. When needed, Irene would help Jim and Delcine at "The Shingle". Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira on Monday, December 17, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Irene's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the 6th floor staff at the Chemung County Nursing Facility for the wonderful care provided to their mother for the last five years.
