Obituary of Frances B. Janeski

Age 78 of Elmira, passed away peacefully at home on May 24, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Frannie was born in Elmira on August 19, 1934, daughter of the late John and Geraldine (Bergan) Brown. She was predeceased by her husband Robert T. Janeski in 1995; sisters, Ann Cox and Karen VanHouten. Frannie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Kim M. and John Chimileski, Horseheads with sons, Andrew (Alyssa), Ryan, Scott and Steve Chimileski; Anne E. and Dave Coon of Tappahannock VA with children Brett Janeski and Alexis Mothershed; son and daughter-in-law, Robert T. and Tracy Janeski of Farmington with his daughters, Samantha, Trisha and Sara Janeski; great granddaughters, MacKenzie and Savannah; brothers, John, Gerald and Phillip Brown all of Elmira; brothers-in-law, Richard Cox and George VanHouten of Elmira. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and many good friends. Frannie retired from Verizon after nearly thirty years with the phone company. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. Frannie loved to travel and spend time in a variety of casinos. Her greatest joy was time spent with her children and grandchildren. There are no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Elmira. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Frannie's memory may be directed to Care First, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning NY 14830. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Care First nurses, Laura, Heidi and Kate for the wonderful care they provided to Frannie for the last several months.
