Sara E. Turner Rolls
"Sally"
Age 86, passed away on February 15, 2010 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Sally was born on January 29, 1924, the daughter of the late Glenn and Muriel Turner. She was the wife of Franklin W. Rolls, celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary on July 31, 2009. Her husband, Franklin, survives with their five children: Joseph T. Rolls, of Elmira, Daniel A. (Kathy) Rolls of Caseville, MI, Glenn (Mary Jane) Rolls of Elmira, James F. (Debbie) Rolls of Elmira, and Beth Ann (Steven) Kuhl of Virginia; grandchildren: Traci Morgan, Heather (Aaron) Pishalski, Todd (Dawn) Huntley, Kelli (Bryan) Matheny, Geoffry Rolls, Eric (Joanne Richards) Rolls, Corey (Shawn Mosko) Rolls, Sara Rolls, Shelly Rolls, Patrick (Monica) Rolls, Timothy (Kerri White) Rolls, Kimberly Rolls, Garrison Kuhl, and Evan Kuhl; great-grandchildren: Tyler, Kaylee, Devon, Ryan, Jared H., Ethan, Miranda, Lowell, Clarice, Jaxon, Caden, Alystiana, Mackenzie, Jared W., Abigayle, Hailey, and Hayden. Also surviving are special aunt, Martha Garrison of Williamsport, PA; sister-in-law, Betty Olin of Horseheads, and her 2 children, Charles (Nancy) Olin and Donna Schnautz, along with their 4 children; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sally was the first Teacher's Aide in the Elmira City School District, working at Diven, Washington, and Booth Schools. She retired in 1990 after 25 years of service. Sally was a volunteer at Arnot Ogden Medical Center and a long time member of North Presbyterian Church. She and Frank raised 5 children and she was a "mother" to countless others throughout her life. Sally was always supportive, encouraging and accepting of everyone. She was a great wife, mom, grandmother and person. Her family was the most important part of her life. Relatives and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. A funeral service will follow. Interment will then take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Arnot Ogden Medical Center Auxiliary, 600 Roe Avenue, Elmira, NY 14905 or North Presbyterian Church Food Pantry, 921 College Avenue, Elmira, NY 14901, would be appreciated.
