Obituary of Margaret M. Kroouze

Margaret M. Kroouze Age 63, of Elmira NY, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Margaret dedicated her life to her faith, family, and friends. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She has touched many, far and wide, and will be greatly missed. Margaret was born in Binghamton NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Rita (Curley) Brady. She was predeceased by her son Patrick T. Kroouze in 1998 and her husband Thomas J. Kroouze in 2000. Margaret is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jane M. and Jason Cruthirds of Fisherville KY; son David C. Kroouze of Elmira with Rachel Miller; grandsons, Brenten, Carter and Duncan Cruthirds; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Carol Brady of Elmira, Richard and Peggy Brady of Dearborn MI; sisters-in-law, Rev. Linda DuBreuil of New Jersey and Joanne Kalacinski of Levittown PA; and several nieces and nephews. Margaret was a retired kindergarten teacher with the Elmira Heights School District. In retirement, Margaret was actively involved with Christ the Redeemer Parish, Compassionate Friends, and the Elmira Area Retired Teachers Association. She was a devout Catholic and a dedicated member of Christ the Redeemer Parish at St. Casimir's. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Streets, on Monday, July 26, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held there on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Casimir's Church. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
