Obituary of Keith Carlisle

Age 47, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, with family by his bedside. Keith was born and raised in Blakely PA before moving to Elmira 15 years ago. He was the son of Sandie Roberts Carlisle of Elmira and the late John Carlisle. In addition to his father, Keith was predeceased by his wife Roberta Carlisle. In addition to his mother, Keith is survived by his daughter Ashley Carlisle with her son Roman; son Keith Michael Carlisle; sister Kymberlee Carlisle with husband John Kushmerick; brother Stephen; nephew Joe; longtime loving partner Jessica Brewer with her children Hunter, Melanie, and Veronica with her son Grayson; and many extended family members and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to Keith, a gentle soul who leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, strength, and resilience. Keith had an energy that drew people to him everywhere he went, and he was always willing to take the time to listen to their stories and help them in any way he could no matter their situation or his. He had a way of making everyone feel and know they were special. He was full of knowledge and very intelligent, he knew something about every topic or subject and his family and friends lovingly referred to him as a real-life encyclopedia. Keith had been an auto mechanic for many years and still loved to help family, friends, and neighbors with their vehicles any time he could. He loved spending time with all the children in our blended family and had a special relationship with each one. He was especially proud of the young man his son is maturing into and growing up to be. Keith felt it a great honor and privilege to be able to spend time caring for and babysitting his grandson.  He loved listening to music, playing games, writing poetry, going for walks, watching movies, fishing, camping and just being with family and friends. Keith found beauty, laughter, and purpose in even the simplest of life’s moments and encouraged us all to do the same.

It was Keith’s request that no funeral or memorial service be held.
