Obituary of Anthony Jamiah Perry
Anthony Jamiah Perry, age 25, of Elmira, NY completed the earthly portion of his walk with the Lord in his home on April 27th.
Anthony was born in Elmira on January 21st, 1999 to Stephanie Browning and James Perry. He attended elementary school in Horseheads, where he participated in Little League, youth basketball and Boy Scouts. He graduated from Elmira High School in 2017, where he participated in track and varsity lacrosse. At an early age, Anthony displayed a very high technical aptitude and fascination with Math, Science, and Computer Technology. At age 10 with the help of YouTube and countless trips to Radio Shack Anthony began building robots at home. Procuring all the parts and doing his own soldering work Anthony would amaze us as his contraptions performed intricate tasks. He was an entrepreneur starting his own business, AP iPhone Repair at age 19. If you’ve had a broken iPhone in the past 5 years you probably called on Anthony to repair it. Among his other gifts and interests, Anthony became a licensed real estate agent with Warren Real Estate.
Anthony was a genuine, kind-hearted young man that was quick with a smile and a warm hug. He loved his mother deeply and always showed his affection for her regardless of his age. He spent countless hours cuddled beside her watching movies. He learned how to walk with the Lord beside his father. Anthony was so proud of his father’s musical gifts and inspired by his faith.
Anthony enjoyed spending time with his family and created countless blessed memories with them. They attended church every Sunday, and watched and went to many Yankees, Giants and Knicks games. He loved hanging out with his cousins and enjoyed many family vacations with them in North Carolina and Florida. Anthony has traveled to Europe, Belize, the Bahamas and Mexico.
Anthony is survived by his Father, James Perry (Shante), Mother, Stephanie Browning, Grandparents Theora Wells whom he lovingly referred to as Grandma Dadie, and Mark (Kathleen) Browning Sr; aunts and uncles including Mark (Kelly) Browning, Diana (Dave) Drew, Tracy “TT” Perry, Chacka “aunt Chacka Milk” Gibson, Jarrod “Uncle Joop” Wells, and Jessica “aunt Jemimah” Amboyan, as well as a host of special cousins. Anthony also leaves behind his best friends, Casey Miller, Drew Ruth, Brandon Rodriquez and his dog Leo.
We couldn’t have asked for a better son and will miss Anthony every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
