Obituary of Deborah A. Geiger
Age 67, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Robert Packer Hospital. Deb was born in Elmira, a daughter of the late Donald W. and Margaret “Cookie” (Sheehan) Wilson. She is also predeceased by husband Gary S. Geiger; son Jason Janowsky; brothers, Jerry, Tom and Jimmy Wilson; brother-in-law Gregory Geiger.
Deb is survived by granddaughter Tayia Janowsky (Michael Howe) with children Avery, Olivia, Elliot and Alex; grandson Collin McInerney; siblings and their families, Beth and Bob Darmstadt with children, Michael (Sara), Jill, David (Erica) and Julie Mandia …. Diane and Tom Booth with children, Amy (Stephen) VanHouten, Rebecca (Scott) Kotwas and Ed (Courtney) … Kristen Wilson (Tom’s wife) with children Connor, Kelsy and Breton … Terry Wilson (Jimmy’s wife) with children, Ted (Xan), Michele (Leif) Ericksen, Matt (Elyse), and Erica (Jose) Porchas … Meggie and Tony Denicola with children, Bridget (Frank Mannino), Katie (Jake) Prechtl, and Sean (Monique); Gary’s daughters, Hillary (Justin) Evert and Janine (Nate) Shinagawa; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Grant and Emily Geiger, Ruth Geiger and Melissa Walsh; several cousins and good friends.
Deb was a 1974 graduate of Elmira Free Academy. She had various jobs before going to work for Verizon from where she retired.
Family and friends are invited to call at McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 6:15 p.m. A livestream of the service will be on YouTube; subscribe to McInerny Funeral Home for access. Burial will take place at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 12:00 noon.
