Obituary of Renee C. Perry

Elmira:  Age 36, entered a glorious dawning when our Heavenly Father summoned her home on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre Pennsylvania after a lingering illness.  Renee was born and raised in Elmira, a daughter of Eugene Perry and Jacqueline Cartwright.  In addition to her parents, Renee is survived by her children, Makenzie 17, Iverson 15, Quincy 13, and Angelus 10; siblings, Rodney Perry, Eugenia (Douglas) Armstrong, and Kevin Perry; special aunts, Betty, Patty and Gloria; special uncle James Mosley; special cousins, Pamela Perry, Daunte Freeman, Antaline Pecorara, Tracy Perry, James Perry and Billy Nickens; special friends, Esther Santiago, Candy Fagan, Brianna and husband Andrew Keach, along with additional special uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Renee was a 2005 Southside High School graduate, continuing her education at Elmira Business Institute.  She was a Librarian Teaching Assistant with the Elmira City School District, currently working at Hendy Avenue School.  Renee touched so many lives and made it a point to make everyone she encountered feel important and special.  She was a loving and devoted mother to her four children, taking them to various historical and nature science museums to further enhance their education.  For relaxation, Renee would immerse herself in spiritual books. 

Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Renee’s funeral service will be held at City of Light Church, 300 Lake Street, Elmira, on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
