Dear Mike & Mandell Family:
I'm shocked and extremely saddened to know our beloved Richie passed away. Even though I haven't seen him for a while, Richie was always a special part of my childhood, and special to this very day, plus beyond for I'll never forget him.
I'll share a story about Richie which has always remained near and dear to my heart. My mother told me that one time Richie was hurt in Patch Park. As you know, everyone in The Patch kept their doors open 24/7, and our home was no exception. Because Richie hurt his eye, he chose our home to find comfort. No one was home, although when my mother returned, she found Richie sitting in a kitchen chair, holding a towel filled with ice over his eye. My mother was initially very concerned for Richie, but he quickly removed all worry from her mind by letting my mother know he was fine. What a guy!
Additionally, cannot thank Richie enough for his service. Again, what a guy! His smile and wonderful laugh are already sorely missed, plus I always felt safe in Richie's presence.
I pray it brings you some comfort knowing Richie is now with your lovely mother, father, brother, sister and brother-in-law, plus our Lord. Just imagine the amazing reunion that took place as Richie walked through those Pearly Gates, smiling with every step taken.
