Obituary of Louise K. Lapple

Louise K. Lapple Elmira: Age 75, passed away, very unexpectedly, at her home on Tuesday, November 16, 2010. Louise was born in Rochester, NY, March 21, 1935, the daughter of Franz and Clara (Jacob) Kraus. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Howard C. Lapple; children, Susan Hunt, with husband Lenny of Clarksville, MD, Christine Manuel, with husband Daniel "Bo" of Elmira, James Lapple with partner Felix Crespo of NYC; grandchildren, Eric Cicora, with fiancée Christine Leser, Jacob Kyle Cicora with wife Christa, Kalla Hunt, Christy Hunt, Patrick Manuel with fiancée Jill Williams, Zachary Manuel, Caley Manuel; great-granddaughter Emma Cicora; brother and sister-in-law Franz and Maria Kraus of Rochester; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frederick and Jean Lapple of Rochester, Gerald and Ollie Lapple of North Carolina; along with several nieces and nephews. Louise was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a dental hygienist for over 50 years, and enjoyed working with people. Louise loved to travel and spend time with her family. She was her grandchildren's number one fan, and supported them in all their endeavors. Louise volunteered at St. Joseph's Skilled Nursing and with the "Buddies" program. She was an active member of the West Elmira Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Sisters of St. Joseph's Association (Agrégée), Ladies of Charity, and a long time communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Louise's kindness and contagious smile will be missed. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Sts., on Thursday, November 18, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 19, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Interment, with committal prayers, will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
