Age 78, passed away peacefully at home after an extended illness on Monday, October 10, 2022. Karen was born in Binghamton NY, a daughter of the late James V. and Esther (Burnside) Tallo. She was predeceased by her son David T. Queen, brother James Tallo, brother-in-law Larry Jirkovsky. Karen is survived by twin sister Sharon Tallo of Elmira; sisters, Joan DeWick of Ledyard CT and Mary Ellen Jirkovsky of Gainesville FL; sister-in-law Marlene Tallo of Binghamton; niece Diane (Ted) Storti of Conklin NY; nephews James (Julie) Tallo of Endicott and Matthew (Christa) Segur of Scottsdale AZ; great- nieces Rachel Bates Winsor NY, Renee Storti of Johnson City NY, Cara and Lily Segur of Scottsdale AZ; great-nephew Samuel Segur of Scottsdale AZ; great-great- nephew and niece Camrin and Gianna Bates of Winsor NY; longtime friend and mentor Sister Marie Michael Miller, RSJ, of Rochester NY; friend Martha Locke of Seattle WA. Karen's family moved to Elmira when she was eleven years old. She attended Booth School and was a in the last graduating class of the old Elmira Free Academy in 1963. She worked for many years at St. Joseph's Hospital; later working as a home health aide. She was involved with AARP for some time. Karen was an avid New York Mets fan and had a close friendship with Met great, David Wright. There will be no public services. Karen will be buried next to her son David at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Karen's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the many loving friends who helped care for Karen during these last few months and to Dr. Renee Abderhalden-Friend and her staff for the exceptional care provided Karen.
