Obituary of James Bovier Stevens

Age 74 and formerly of Elmira, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 7, 2022, in Fort Mill SC. Jamie was born in Elmira, a son of the late Vinton S. and Antoinette (Bovier) Stevens. He was also predeceased by brothers Stuart and Vinton Scott Stevens. Jamie is survived by children and their families, Asheley and Michael Clune of New Fairfield CT with children Katie, Gavin, Meryn and Peyton … Alexia and Marc Bartholdi of Fort Mill SC with children Liam and Claire … Stuart Stevens of Horseheads NY with children Keanan, William, Hannah, and Logan; former wife Janet Murphy of Horseheads NY; sister-in-law Kiyoko Suzuki Stevens of Elmira with her children Vinton "Bo" Stevens, Sayre (Liz) Stevens and Antoinette "Toni"; cousins William and Martha Benedict of Huntington Beach CA with daughter Maggie … John Benedict and family of Trumansburg NY; former wife Sheila Stevens with her children Sean Hennigan, Christopher (Christie) Hennigan with children Hannah and Delaney … Meghann (Jake) Cohen with children Sloane and Jack; several other cousins, nieces and nephews. Jamie worked for Streeter Associates before starting his own company, JB Stevens Construction Inc. He relocated to Beaufort SC in 2000, where he was a partner at Kole and Stevens Inc. He closed out his working career as the owner of Oasis Mosquito Systems. In retirement, Jamie enjoyed summers at Keuka Lake, hobbies of boating, sailing, golfing, shooting trap and spending time with family and friends. Jamie was devoted to his family and friends. He will forever be loved and missed. Family and friends are invited to St. Mary's Catholic Church 224 Franklin Street Elmira, on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Elmira. A livestream of the Mass will be available through the Facebook page for Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (https://www.facebook.com/ElmiraCatholic).
