A master storyteller. He could captivate even with a story you had heard him tell before. I can see now in my mind’s eye his description of an experience of his youth, with his older brother organized his siblings to do various chores and providing the EXACT change to purchase staples from the grocery store. And he did it with a commanding voice and kindness in his eyes.
I will miss talking about old movies and the beloved Yankees. Dave, Michelle and the whole family- you will be in your prayers. The world is profoundly less today, but Heaven has become a more interesting place.

My father worked and played golf with Johnnie for many years. I'm sure they are once again playing golf with each other now!
I have very fond memories of Johnnie. My favorite one is when he and Reggie would go house to house doing their Christmas Tree judging and we got an instant FAIL because we had a fake tree!!! What a great man!!! He will be missed.
