I grew up in Elmira and at Manzari's. Vito sponsored my little league team in the late 1970s early 80s and was good friends with my dad. I have many happy memories of Manzari's and love going there any time I am back home. My condolences to the entire Manzari Family.

To all of the Manzaris, my Brother Joseph Arbach and I send our sincerest sympathies to you all. We’ve lived Manzaris and it was the first ‘bar’ I ever went to at the age three! Granted I had a coke with my Mom, we lived right down the street so Manzaris was my neighbor. My Mother loved the place, Beverly Wheeler, and we always went there for Miller lights, meatballs, and dancing. Good lifetime memories in Manzaris, and of Vito. May God bless you all.

Dearest Uncle Vito and Aunt Giovanna and cherished cousins. We all grew up together and Vito was at the helm. He brought his characters to make us laugh, acted out his entertainment stories and the tones and dynamics in his voice was the equal to beautiful music. In 1976, I was going through a rough time during a divorce. I began going to Manzari’s with dear friends. Vito was such a wonderful man. The advice he gave me has stuck with me my whole life. I was hoping to see him when I came home in August. I will be praying for God’s comfort to surround his loved ones.

So sad to hear that Vito passed away. He was truly an icon to us in the neighborhood. I remember bringing my mom there years ago on Friday nights and he would always give her an extra meatball. Even though we were Irish, we never missed a chance to dine with the "Boss" when we were in town. Even after we moved away, we always managed to stop in to see the place. Now that God took away his apron, he can watch us do the cooking! Ciao!
