Elmira: Age 70, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Elcor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Gary was born in Elmira, a son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Carroll) Wojtyna. He is survived by brothers, Robert, Donald (Judy); sister Kathleen (Nick) Fierro, all of Elmira; along with several nieces and nephews. Gary was a 1968 graduate of Elmira Free Academy. He worked as an orderly for many years, and then decided to follow in his dad's footsteps and became a skilled printer. Due to an injury he had to retire early. Gary enjoyed listening to music, while spending time with friends. He loved almost all sports and his favorite teams were the Boston Red Sox and the San Francisco 49ers. Gary had a real love for cats and horses, following horse races with great enthusiasm. Gary's family would like to thank the staff at Elcor for their wonderful care and compassion. May Gary rest in eternal peace. Following Gary's wishes there will be no services.
