Obituary of Patrick James Horton

Age 57 of Elmira, passed away Monday August 23, 2021, at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Patrick was born December 1, 1963, a son of the late Darwin and Mary Patricia Golden Horton. He was also predeceased by his sister Carol Spencer, nephew Kyle Patrick Moharter, brother-in-law Frank Wagner and all of his canine companions most recently his beloved Harley-Bear. Patrick is survived by his siblings, Jane Wagner of Horseheads, Judy and Bill Moharter of Elmira, Joseph Horton of Horseheads, Norma Horton of Elmira and James and Judi Horton of Horseheads, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Patrick graduated from Elmira Notre Dame High School, Class of 1981. Patrick was employed by the NYS Department of Corrections, retiring from the Southport Correctional Facility with 27 years of service. Prior to Patrick's health issues he was a free spirit who loved riding his Harleys, especially his Screamin Eagle. He was a long-time member of The Mudhunter. There was not a hug, handshake, fist bump or nod that Patrick didn't enjoy. At Patrick's request there will be no services. A celebration of his life will be announced in the near future. The shadow knows and the blind can see through the shadows. Visualize in the brightest colors, to hear the light enter from afar. Imagine the impact; are you really brighter than the shadow?
