Elmira: Age 72, passed away very unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at her home. Ann was born September 18, 1948, a daughter of the late Arthur D. and Pauline Ruth (Kennedy) Rising. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Kimberly Smith, brother, Gary A. Rising, brother-in-law, Robert Campbell and sisters-in-law, Francine and Constance Christoff. Ann is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, William R. Christoff, loving grandchildren, who meant the world to her, Jacob Matthew Smith and Anna Kennedy Smith; son-in-law, Robert Smith, all of Corning; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Campbell; brother-in-law, Thomas Christoff; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and dearest friends, Amanda and Teresa. Ann graduated from Corning East High School and the Business Institute of Syracuse. After being a homemaker and raising her daughter, Ann worked for Family Services in Elmira for several years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be forever loved and missed. Friends are invited to Ann’s Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, 11:00 a.m., St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira. In lieu of flowers those wishing may remember Ann with a donation to the Elmira Animal Shelter, 840 Linden Place Extension, Elmira NY 14901.
