Mary M. Jurusik
Elmira: Age 79, died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at St Joseph's Hospital. Mary was born April 28, 1931 a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Holleran) Hintz. She is also predeceased by her daughter Alice Jurusik Kane. Mary is survived by her husband of 55 years Donald J. Jurusik; daughters, with their families, Mary Theresa and Joseph Duffy of Elmira with sons, Kevin and Patrick; Patricia Ann and Douglas Logan of Maryland, with children, Russell and Kaitlin; son-in-law Peter (Sue) Kane of Elmira, with sons, Thomas and Matthew; brother John Hintz of Elmira Heights; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann Elizabeth and Robert Albright of Florida, Joan and William McCann of Elmira, Jean Marie and Patrick Dabracci of Penn Yan NY; brother-in-law, Stanley Peter "Brother Allan" Jurusik of Conyers GA; sisters-in-law, Mary Jurusik of Minnesota and Muriel Jurusik of New Jersey; along with several nieces and nephews. Mary was a long time active communicant of Ss. Peter & Paul Church. She was a graduate of the Arnot Ogden School of Nursing and had retired from the Arnot with over 20 years of service. Mary was an avid gardener and was a pro at stripping woodwork. Her greatest joy was the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Sts., on Sunday, January 23, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held there on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Ss. Peter & Paul Church. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mary may be directed to St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation, 555 St. Joseph's Blvd., Elmira NY 14901, The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the 5th floor nursing staff at St. Joseph's Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit for the wonderful care provided to Mary over the last several months.
