21-053 Age 100, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Angelina was born in Baltimore MD a daughter of Manse and Ida (Finnegan) DeOnofrio. She was predeceased by her husband Daniel C. O'Brien Jr., sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and Stanley Szerszen, brother-in-law Carl Hillman. Angelina is survived by her sister Shirley Hillman of Elmira; along with many nieces and nephews. Angelina had worked at Remington Rand in the payroll department for many years. She later worked with her husband as owners and operators of O'Brien's Grocery Store in Elmira. Angelina was a former religious education teacher at St. Anthony's School. She loved to play cards and, for many years, every Wednesday she had a standing card game with family and/or friends. Angelina also enjoyed crocheting and sewing. There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira, on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. A livestream of the Mass will be available through the Facebook page for Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (https://www.facebook.com/ElmiraCatholic). Committal prayers and interment will follow at Woodlawn National Cemetery where Angelina will be laid to rest with her husband Daniel. COVID protocol will be in place at both the church and cemetery. Angelina's family acknowledges the wonderful care provided by the Chemung County Nursing Facility staff over the past couple of years, especially Lisa Sauer and Donetta Morey.
