Please share a memory of Eleanor to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elmira: Age 88, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Elcor Nursing Facility. Eleanor was born May 28, 1932 in Olyphant PA to John and Olga (Domanich) Stemphoski. She is survived by her daugher Mary Ellen Fulmer, and son Frank J. Twardeski II, both of Elmira; grandsons, Frank J. Twardeski III (Emily), and Thomas Fulmer; great-grandsons, Nicholas, Tyler and Cole Twardeski; sister Marlene "Dolly" Vladika; brother Robert Stemphoski; daughter-in-law Cindy Twardeski; special granddaughter-in-law Lisa Larose. Eleanor is predeceased by her husband Frank J. Twardeski, Sr., daughter Diane M. Twardeski, grandson Brian T. Twardeski, son-in-law William Fulmer, sister Gloria Malewich, and brother John Stemphoski. Eleanor was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always putting her family first. Her generosity and love for children found her as a foster parent and day care provider for hundreds of children in the area throughout the years. She loved Elvis, candy, donuts, sitting on her porch listening to polka ….not necessarily in that order! A special remembrance to her favorite hairdresser Anna Burritt, who she loved very much and was much more than a hair dresser to her, neighbors Mike and Eileen Cook for always looking out for her, and to Kay Wilber for her special friendship throughout the years. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Private interment will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A special thanks to the wonderful staff and nurses at Elcor for their exceptional care of our "Grammy Ellie".
