MaryAnn Rogers
Elmira: Age 81, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011, in Rochester NY after an extended illness. MaryAnn was born in Elmira on October 8, 1929, the oldest of six children, to Angelo and Georgia (DeMember) Narde. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Carroll G. Rogers; daughters, Carol Ann Belloma and Georgene Lanahan; grandson Matthew Latterel; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Charlie Ponzi. MaryAnn is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Kate and Bill Melton, Eileen and John Banke, all of Fort Worth TX; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Kim Rogers of Rochester NY, Mark Rogers of Fort Worth TX, Ron and Joan Rogers of Horseheads; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Marianne Narde of Atlanta GA, John and Sandy Narde of Rochester, Tom and Debbie Narde of Elmira; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Chuck Ruhmel of Big Flats; sons-in-law Dan Belloma and Jim Lanahan both of Fort Worth TX; brother-in-law, Ken Rogers of New Jersey; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. MaryAnn was a graduate of St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing. She went on to work at St. Joseph's Hospital where she retired with nearly 40 years of service. She was a member of the 3rd Order of Carmelites and the Agrégée of the Sisters of St. Joseph's Association. She was a life long member of St. Patrick's Church. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Donations in memory of MaryAnn may be directed to either St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation, 555 St. Joseph's Blvd., Elmira NY 14901 or Journey Home, 994 Long Pond Road, Rochester NY 14626. For all who knew and loved MaryAnn, she will be remembered as someone who loved and was devoted to her family and her faith. Members of the St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing Alumni will gather at St. Patrick's Church on Friday at 9:30 a.m. to form and honor guard for MaryAnn.
