Margaret G. Bumbalo
Penn Yan: Age 96, passed away at Geneva Hospital on Monday, August 29, 2011. Margaret was born in Edinboro PA on February 28, 1915 a daughter of George W. and Minnie Cydel Minium. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph S. Bumbalo and sister Velma Minium. Margaret is survived by her daughter Judith A. Bumbalo of Boston MA; sons and daughters-in-law, John A. and Shane Bumbalo of Seattle WA, Joseph S. and Eileen Bumbalo of Penn Yan NY; grandchildren Lisa (Joshua) Wright, Lori (Byron) Lindsted, Heather Carbone, Julie (Patrick) Hobbs, Lucas Bumbalo; great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Aidan and Collin Wright, Joseph Lindsted, Elias Carbone, Garrett, Parker, Natalie, and Lincoln Hobbs; along with several nieces and nephews.
Margaret grew up in Edinboro PA, graduating from Edinboro High School. She was a graduate of Buffalo City Hospital School of Nursing and went on to earn a B S degree in Nursing Education from the University of Buffalo.
Margaret was a supervisor, and teacher, of Obstetric Nursing at Buffalo City Hospital. After raising her family Margaret returned to nursing to teach and practice at St. Joseph's Hospital, Elmira. She finished her professional career as a School Nurse Teacher in the Elmira City School District.
Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Streets, on Saturday, September 3, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
