Obituary of Doris A. Holleran

Doris A. Holleran Elmira: Age 90, passed away Monday, October 17, 2011 at Bethany Manor. Doris was born January 20, 1921 a daughter of Leo C. and Aleine (Arnold) McKinney. She is predeceased by her husband William R. Holleran, sister Betty Wheeler and infant son Sean Holleran. Doris is survived by her children, with their families, Michael L. and Susan Holleran of Chesterfield MO; Brian W. and Sharman Holleran of Northbrook IL with their children, Sean (Danielle), Matthew, and Katie; Maureen A. and Mark Lutomski of Penfield NY with their children, William Lutomski, Jeffrey Lutomski, and Elizabeth (Daniel) Fannin; Patrick and Wynnvan Holleran of Algonquin IL with their children, Meghann (Kurt) Carpenter and Brandon Holleran; Mary Eileen and Paul Forrest of Delmar NY with children Alaina (Bob) Laferriere and Daniel Forrest; Patricia B. and Tom Beckwith of Rochester NY with children Caitlin, Michael and Ellen; great-grandchildren, Brady, Kayden and Reece. A graduate of St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing, Doris' entire nursing career was with St. Joseph's Hospital. Many will remember Doris for the wonderful care she gave new moms and their babies in the maternity unit. After retiring, Doris was a volunteer at the hospital. She moved to Bethany Courtyards 4 years ago and considered this her second home. Doris enjoyed all the activities at The Courtyards, especially The Sunshine Club, and anything that involved singing and dancing. The most important part of her life was the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Sts., on Friday, October 21, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 9:15 .am., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. Interment, with committal prayers, will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
