Beverly Jean Wilcox
Elmira: Age 84, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Beverly was born in Elmira on December 23, 1928. She is predeceased by her father Charles Lyle Baylor, who died when she was 4 years old, mother Minnie Slater, step-father Frank M. Slater, aunt Lida B. Dorland. Beverly is survived by her children, and their spouses. Keith B. and Mary Wilcox, Elmira, Douglas A. and Lori Wilcox, Elmira, Timothy L. and Patricia Wilcox, Ballston Spa NY, Deborah J. and Michael Stamp, Elmira, Gerald D. and Christie Wilcox, Erin; grandchildren, Matthew (Felicia) Wilcox, Jessica Wilcox, Jordan (Lyndsay) Wilcox, Timothy L. Wilcox, Jr., Mackenzie Wilcox, Sarah J. (Jeffrey Perry) Stamp, David R. (Maria Tubby) Stamp, Brianna Wilcox, Sean Brokaw, Caitlyn Bowell; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Gunner and Jacob Wilcox; several nieces and nephews; best friend Frances Whittenhall, special friend Tommy Thomas; and canine companion "Sadie". Beverly was a Registered Nurse receiving her degree from Arnot Ogden Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at the Arnot for 25 years, then worked for nearly 20 years at the Chemung County Nursing Facility, retiring as a Charge Nurse. Beverly loved her career and was a dedicated and loving nurse. She loved to read and crochet. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother Beverly's life revolved around her family.
Friends are invited to her funeral service on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., North Presbyterian Church, 921 College Avenue, Elmira. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. Beverly's family extends a special thank you to the staff on 3C-AOMC for the wonderful care they provided to their mother.
