Gilly and I met in high school as kids. We went to the Corrections Academy together and then to Fishkill in our first assignment. We reconnected last November when my son met him at Legend's. He got on the phone and we made plans to meet for dinner. First thing he said to me was dang we got old. We met at least three times since. He always made me laugh and that's what I'll miss the most. R.I.P Gilly. Till we meet again.

I've known Gilly for over 50 years. We played Little League together, graduated the same year from the Academy, and worked many years together in Corrections. He was a loyal friend who always had your back. We enjoyed playing soft ball, golf and skiing over the years. Danny had a great sense of humor..He would call every year to meet up with myself, Carole and our son Mike (who Gilly always delighted in calling "Dusty") on X-mas eve at the Elbow Room. Last year was the first time we didn't get that call. ..It was a pleasure knowing Danny and an honor to call him our friend..He will be missed. ..He was taken away too soon......Dick "Dirt" and Carole

Gilly was a sweet, gentle, kind ,loving soul. I feel blessed to have had him in my life. I will miss him dearly. He was loved by many ,and fiercely loyal and generous to family ,friends and co-workers. He was a man of integrity and always strived to do the right thing and stand by his ideals, not always an easy thing to do. My heart is broken, I am thankful you died peacefully and not alone. He was playful and fun loving, so much fun we had over the years... I remember him saying "I'm a mama's boy" and so he was, a devoted and loving son, a good person , a life well lived, gone too soon...rest in peace Gilly, you will not be forgotten....
