Obituary of Donald J. Domineske

Age 51, passed away unexpectedly, on Sunday, August 12, 2018. Don was born in Elmira a son of the late Harry A., Sr. and Dorothy (Zuchowski) Domineske. He is survived by his brothers: Harry Domineske, Jr. of Horseheads, with Phyllis Clark, and his children, H.R. (Kelly) Domineske, Kelli (Jeff) Edwards, and Amanda (Joe Clate) Domineske…Jerome Domineske of Bradford NY, with wife Cathy, and their children, Tiffany (Adrian) Janniro and Eric (Samantha) Domineske…sister: Debbie Deming of Dundee, with husband Mark, and their daughters, Jennifer, Jaime and Ashley; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Don was a graduate of Elmira Free Academy. He was a New York State Correctional Officer retiring after 25 years of service. He spent most of his service time at Five Points Correctional Facility in Romulus NY, where he was part of the original staff when the facility opened, and it is the facility from where he retired. An avid outdoorsman Don loved to hunt, fish and barbeque. He also had a great love of all kinds of music, from country to heavy metal, with KISS being one of his favorite groups. Don was a huge, huge Oakland Raider fan. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Don on Saturday, August 18, 2018, 10:00 a.m., St. Casimir's Church, 1012 Davis Street, Elmira. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery. The family will provide flowers those wishing may remember Don with a donation to Salty Dog Rescue, c/o Barbara Cook, 504 Magee Street, Watkins Glen NY 14891.
