Charlotte went to work at Chemung Canal Trust Company for many years before transitioning to Tompkins County Trust Company for a short time. She had a passion for helping people and while at Tompkins County Trust she decided to make a career change. Charlotte went back to school to earn a nursing degree and spent the last 18 years working at various health care facilities in Chemung and Steuben County. She was passionate about her nursing and would strive to create a special bond with all of her patients. She truly loved her job. Chuck and Charlotte started C +C Glass in 1992 and she was instrumental in its success. In 1993, as a couple, they were awarded the John Woodhull Conservationist of the Year Award by the Catherine Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Chuck and Charlotte enjoyed working together on many projects over the years and to many people, they were almost indistinguishable as separate individuals. They were a team. She also served on the Big Flats Planning Board and Environmental Committee for several years. Charlotte loved walking on the beaches of Assateague and Metompkin Island, as well as fishing in the Chesapeake Bay. Her hobbies included painting and crafts. She loved being in the kitchen, cooking and baking. Not one to follow the norm, Charlotte would make up her own recipes for much of what was made in the kitchen. She enjoyed time spent on the farm in Cuba NY that she and Chuck had purchased five years ago and were developing for their retirement. While there she was involved in making her own teas, herbal supplements, and enjoyed picking blueberries. She also enjoyed her friends she made as a member of the Soaring Capitol Bee Club. She used honey from her bees in her kitchen creations. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and 'Oma" to her grandchildren. Services and a Celebration of her life will be held in the Spring at a date and time to be announced. Those wishing may remember Charlotte with a donation to Empire Animal Rescue Service, P.O. Box 445 Salamanca NY 14779.
