I was so sorry to hear about the loss of Brendan. I was one of the many instructors that led the Zumbathon fundraiser last year for Brendan at St Mary Our Mother. I remember his smile as he was watching his children dance and it warmed my heart. May you feel God's loving presence as he wraps you and your family in his arms during this most difficult time. You are in my prayers.

To the McCarthy family -
I lost another loved one again with Brendan's passing. I will have his memories with me for the rest of my life and will do as he would have wanted me to do, continue on! He is now an angel in heaven with my daughter, Neva and my husband and will be that shining star in the night-time sky right next to my other two stars in heaven. I can not tell you how much he meant to me but you have to know because he was like one of my own. Please keep a special place in your family for me as I will be checking in often to help whenever I can and to watch your children grow.

Words cannot express the deep sense of loss that many of us feel in losing this man. Brendan was such a positive person and always a role model for students and staff here at Horseheads High School. During his illness he became a beacon of strength to all around him as they tried to come to terms with the thought of losing him. He taught us many lessons that we will take with us and use to help others who face such mountains of adversity. None of us will ever forget. We will take our joy in watching Kileen and their four beautiful children as they continue to carry on his legacy of love and caring.
