Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Sheehan

Elmira: age 59, was enfolded in the arms of her Lord and taken to her heavenly home on Monday, December 29, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born on the 5th of April 1955, in Elmira, a daughter of Anna M. (Klein) James and the late Herbert F. James. In addition to her father she is predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law Donald and Rose Sheehan and sister-in-law Kathleen Sheehan. Mary is survived by her mother; husband Terry; daughter Bridget (Chris) Petrillose; son Patrick; sisters, Nancy Butler, Kathy (Nick) Frisk, Karen (James) Osborn, Margaret (Tim) Sullivan; brother Daniel, all of Elmira; brothers, James (Jackie) of Batesville IN, Charles (Lisa) of Little Rock AK; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Doreen (Dave) Frisk, Joanne (William) Palmer, Donna (Dan) Shultz, Ellen (Joe) Curren, Tim (Beth), all of Rochester, Judy (Jack) Dunlavey, Jack (Ann), all of Elmira, Patrick (Wendy), Marty, all of West Palm Beach FL, Scott (Annette) of Wellington FL; along with numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends. Mary was a 1973 graduate of Notre Dame High School. She continued her education at BOCES obtaining her LPN certification. Her early working years were spent as an LPN at St. Joseph's Hospital in the OB/GYN unit. Mary then took time off to raise her family and in later years worked at the Elbow Room in Elmira. At Mary's request there will be no public calling hours. All are invited to Mary's Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., St. Patrick's Church. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family. Flowers will be provided by the family.
