Obituary of Robert D. Leisenring

Age 64, of Gillett PA, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. Bob was born August 18, 1950, a son of the late Robert D. Leisenring, Sr. and Margaret (Collins) Emanuel. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by sister Brenda Leisenring and brother Brian Leisenring. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Cathy Christman Leisenring; children, and their families, Kyle B. Leisenring of Moraine OH, and children Taylor S. Leisenring and Kyle B. Leisenring, Jr.; Brenda M. Leisenring of Gillett PA, and children, Lorenzo J. and Brandon R. Snow; Kelly B. Wood of Endicott, her husband Matthew and their children, Liam M., Delaney C. and Michaela M. Wood; stepfather Dan Emanuel; siblings and their spouses, Peggy and Larry Comereski, Pamela Leisenring, Bruce and Wanda Leisenring, Paul and Ann Leisenring, Barbara and Mark Hillman, Slade Leisenring and Holly Hollenbeck; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sue and Al Rice, David Scott Christman; along with several nieces and nephews. Bob was a graduate of Elmira Free Academy. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U S Army. Bob was a dedicated employee of the Elmira Water Board for 36 years. An outdoorsman, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed gardening. Bob was a big kid at heart, kids loved him and he loved them. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Committal prayers, with military honors, will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
