Obituary of Cathleen Peterson

Elmira: Passed away peacefully at her daughter Tiffany's home, with her loving family by her side, on Friday, July 18, 2014. Cathy was born in Elmira NY on September 26, 1957 a daughter of the late O. Lavern and Charlotte (Watkins) Robinson. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her sister Joanne Coleman and father-in-law Charles L. Peterson. Cathy is survived by her husband of 36 years Ronald C. Peterson; son and daughter-in-law William E. and Denise Peterson of Chemung with their sons Joshua, Nicholas and Conner; daughter and son-in-law, Heather R. and Kenny Shaw of Elmira with their children Shanielle, Josiah and Savannah; daughter Tiffany M. Decker of Lowman with her children Dylan, Austin and Layken; great grandchildren Landon and Jossylynn; siblings, Robert Robinson of Elmira, Donna Adams of Big Flats and Donna Coleman of Elmira; mother-in-law Alice Peterson of Elmira Heights; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dawn and Thomas Petzke of Elmira, Deitra and Michael Woodard of South Carolina, Nancy Burdick of Elmira Heights, Rita and Douglas Kennedy of Beaver Dams; special caring and compassionate friend Douglas Evans of Elmira; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Cathy's death was due to a long battle with esophageal cancer. She was a dedicated and loyal employee at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center for 13 ½ years before having to retire due to her illness. Cathy was an avid card player and enjoyed her stays at Turning Stone Resort in Verona NY where she loved to visit her favorite restaurant, Emeralds. She always enjoyed the Athens PA fireworks show held every July 4th. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W.
