Obituary of Donna L. Shaut

Painted Post: Age 70, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Donna was born June 19, 1943 in Corning, a daughter of the late Alice (Woughter) and Donald Perry. She is survived by her daughters, with their families, Corinna L. and Stanley Sullwold, Round Rock TX with son Kyle; Leigh A. and William Gaston, Geneva, with children Joey and Kayla; Sara E. and Patrick Palmer, Elmira, with their son Aedan and Patrick's son Carrick; siblings and their spouses, Sharon and Sumner Burr, Rockport MA, Michael and Julia Perry, Auburn WA, David and Kathy Perry, Saratoga Springs NY, Deborah and James Mills, Corning, Timothy and Joyce Perry, Lynchburg VA; former husband Ernest Shaut, Corning; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William and Linda Shaut, Painted Post, David and Cathy Shaut, Loveland OH; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Donna worked in marketing and sales at Steuben Glass for many years. She enjoyed cooking, baking and was an avid reader. Donna was a regular customer at Peaches & Cream Ice Cream Store in Gang Mills, where she was treated like family. A very generous and giving person Donna always put others needs before her own. She was a member of Twin Tiers Christian Church, Gang Mills. Her favorite scripture verse was Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Following Donna's wishes there will be no funeral service. There will be a celebration of her life at a later date.
